Smelley should have been taken out of the game after the first quarter. That was the only fault Spurrier made. We played shitty and clemson played half-assed. we will see what will happen next.

Just got back from the place I go to watch the games...
Smelley was ABSOLUTELY pathetic. We honestly could have won with as many wide open receivers as we had.
However, did any of you see anything out of Garcia against Florida that would have made you think he could have won the game for us? Not that I wasn’t screaming for him to come in…
This really, really sucks…

more interceptions
more fumbles
more missed open receivers
more losses to Clemson
We should have gone the Mathew Stafford route with Garcia. Taken our lumps this year and come out fighting next year. It is almost certain that our would not be any worse this year with Garcia.

Honestly...
The thing I kept saying to myself throughout this game was, “Why can’t we have Blake Mitchell back for one more year?” And yes, that’s very sad.

Let’s not kid ourselves. Blake and Smelley were on the same level. Blake could not even hold onto the snaps! Next year the #1 QB should be Garcia. #2 Aramis Hillary. #3 maybe Smelley or maybe Reid McCollum. Seriously. Smelley is a known quantity. It is time to take a page out of Money Ball and gamble on fate.

Blake Mitchell never would have played like that. As bad as he was at times, did he he ever do anything remotely that bad?
But you’re right about next year. I don’t know why I believed Smelley would turn it around today. But I was wrong. Next year is Garcia, Hillary, and someone other than Smelley. That was rank.

I’m taking it as you are the last person we want to see, hear, or smell. You should know that. You don’t think that we understand why we lost?
