As an Auburn fan I thought I would share this with ya. I seriously doubt there is a chance of Spurrier leaving South Carolina. He has already stated that South Carolina would be his last spot. But I haven't seen anything over here about it so I thought I would post this.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The WSFA 12 Sports team has learned that Auburn University may be close to offering its head coaching job, and that person could be South Carolina's Steve Spurrier.
A source in the coaching profession tells us he's hearing strong indications that point to Spurrier as the Tigers' top choice. However, Spurrier has been quoted in other media saying that his coaching future is at South Carolina.
The following is from al.com/auburnfootball. Apparently Spurrier heard the rumor also.
Spurrier dismisses Auburn rumors

A Montgomery TV station apparently led off its six o'clock broadcast with a report about South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier that has caused quite a bit of buzz.
I would examine the wording closely on this one. Auburn may be close to offering Spurrier..." Even if all that was true, that's still short of an offer. And it's certainly short of an acceptance by Spurrier. (UPDATE: A new version of the story is posted here.)
Spurrier was asked about rumors linking him to the Auburn job earlier today in Tampa, Fla., where he was attending an Outback Bowl event.
The following is from GamecockCentral.com, South Carolina's Rivals-affiliated Web site.
"There's nothing to that," Spurrier said. "It's amazing how some of that stuff gets started.
"The Auburn one? Is that the one you're talking about? Yeah, that one jumped out of nowhere. It's interesting how anybody can almost start a rumor, I guess."
I never rule out anything in a coaching search, no matter how outlandish, but I would approach the Spurrier speculation with a fair amount of skepticism.
Best of luck to you guys against Iowa!!!
