WEEKEND OPEN MIC [08.01.08]

5-1.

According to our last two weeked open mics, the Gamecocks are beginning to eerily represent last years, continuing to plow through the lower-tier teams on their schedule, going 3-0 against Wofford, UAB and rebuilding Ole Miss.

The stretch run is now under way. Kentucky is not nearly as good as the Wildcats' fans think, but won't be a pushover, either, particularly in Lexington in the Oct. 11 matchup. A week later, the Bayou Bengals come to Columbia. And, after a bye week, the Orange Crush begins when Tennessee drops by the WB on Nov. 1.

As the games get harder to win, they get harder to call. Vote and comment below.
