First, let me start by stating that I am half drunk at a hurricane party right now… so whatever I say has to be taken with a grain of salt. (By the way, slip-n-slidin during a Tropical Storm is a lot of fun, also why I refuse to move away from Charleston. I’ve tried it, not worth it.)

Part of the original post, admittadly, was venting. What we wittnessed last night, in my opinion, is an afront to sports. I don’t want to take anything away from Vandy. They will give any SEC school fits this year. However, Fla and UGA will still handle them pretty handedly. And I can tell you, Bobby Johnson is a hell of a coach. He deserves a school with more resources than Vandy.

But that game shouldn’t have been close. At least a 2 TD difference in USC’s favor. If you consider talent alone. The one thing that I cannot accept from a team at the level of the SEC is the lack of heart that I saw last night. Our players just didn’t seem to care. At least not enough to compete. They just seemed like they were just doing a little bit more than going through the motions. (Thankfully, not as bad looking as Clemson last week.) Just my opinion. Maybe I am selling the guys a little short. I hope that I am and that they are ready to compete come Saturday.

All in all the team didn’t play that bad. They just didn’t seem like they were thinking about what they were doing. They were out there going through the motions and assumed that their talent would win the game for them. I only hope that UGA comes into the Willy B this weekend with the same attitude.
