but we finally scored on our first possesion of the game. I like the fact that the opposing team started with the ball for once. I think having our offense start games for us was a strategy to maybe save our defense, but it clearly wasn’t working. I like getting our defense on the field first to set the tone and give our offense pretty good field position.

Two consecutive false starts? Granted the defensive end on the first one was in the nuetral zone when the snap happened and that was why Maddox jumped. Need more concentration.

I wonder what the deal is. Do we not have the propper cleats for the fake turf?

I’m infuriated right now. If nothing changes in this game (and I don’t think it will), USC will be 6-6 and sitting at home in December.

you can take solace in the fact the the team is playing decently. The thing holding us back are fluke plays right now. Snap over Garvia head, giving up a 69 yard play right before the half… etc.

They are awful and devastating to my personal morale. No chance of a good runback? Fine. But don’t F’n run backwards. GOD!

I think we’ve played well defensively today. The truth is that Mallett is a great QB. We’ve knocked out their running game.

I’m not willing to call this season a failure yet. Like I said before 7-5 is a respectable record given our circumstances and expectations coming into the year. We could conceivably win one of our last two games. If that happens we’ll be bowl bound with an opportunity to finish 8-5. Plus, a win over Clemson is always sweet. A USC coach could lose every except Clemson every year and I’d still consider keeping him around.

But’s if we finish 6-6, unqualified failure. I’m still not willing to oust Spurrier in this situation, but next season better be 8-4 or better or else he’s outta here.

By the way, we have now officially lost to all of my most hated SEC teams this year. Great.

The supposedly good defense of USC got eaten alive. I’m not watching next week and I may not watch the Clemson game, either. The offense may be doing “okay” by the numbers, but it’s not any good at all. I have no answers and no convincing answers are being offered to me. 0-4 to finish the season…AGAIN? Yes, great job, everyone!

I’m starting to forget what it feels like to feel good after a game. Everything is going dark. Feeling cold. So…very…cold… Hold me, Steve Taneyhill.

I’ll be able to scalp tickets for next week’s game on the mad cheap. I plan on getting beligerantly hammered for next week’s game. I won’t be able to handle it if I’m not in an alcohol-induced frenzy.

I feel better. Hopefully the team doesn’t, though. The one question that keeps sticking with me is this—Why can’t this team play at a high level consistently? I think it’s my old bugbear—inconsistent (if you’re being nice, terrible if you’re not) offensive line play.

Also, why isn’t Garcia rolling out more? This seems like it could help. But like I said earlier, no clear answers seem to be present.
