Several Gamecocks were honored. Devan Downey was on the first team All SEC (first five), while Zam Frederick and Dominique Archie were on the second team. Brandis Raley-Ross won the Sixth Man Award. Downey and Archie were on the All-Defensive Team.

For those wondering, LSU's Marcus Thornton won POY over Downey, Jodie Meeks, and Nick Calathes, while LSU's Trent Johnson won COY. Apparently the people that decide on these awards really love LSU. I sure didn't see that award going to Thornton. I would have gone with Downey or Meeks. As far as Johnson vs. Darrin Horn goes, I can see the rationale behind picking Johnson. He's done a great job. He may have had an easier path than Horn--there was already some very solid talent in Baton Rouge--but you still can't discount the turnaround he's effected. LSU will be a power in the SEC for years to come.
