No Recap Tonight
I'll be around with one tomorrow. Right now, I'm a little too stunned by what happened tonight. I'd be OK with things if we had shown more fight in the second half, but we responded to UT's challenge with clumsy, listless play. We simply lacked the kind of focus you need to win a huge game like this.
The only other thing I want to say is, congrats to the Vols on winning the SEC Eastern Division crown. Tennessee came ready to play tonight. They're finally beginning to look like the Top-10 team people thought they might be. Kudos to them.

Don't know. Are the favorites still Calathes, Downey, and Meeks?
You’d have to think that Downey still has a head up based on the fact that we’ve had a better year than those teams and Downey has given us some late game heroics. Although Meeks has the great stats.

I would like to say congrats to SC as well.
Before the season started, I don’t think anybody would have pegged them for a bye in the SEC tournament. This first year under coach Horn was absolutely terrific for SC. I think you may have a real keeper with him, especially considering how he’s managed to get people excited about basketball again.
Best of luck against Georgia!
Agreed
And SC did something we couldn’t even come close to doing: taking out The Mildcats.
I think SC is definately Big Dance Bound and they’ve got the solid guards that can cause some upsets if the night is right (though I think ya’ll really need to find a bigger post presence to have a shot at a deep run)

Thanks for coming by, guys.
I seriously think you guys are set for a nice postseason showing. To me, you looked like the strongest team we’ve played all year. The problem for you this year has been that you haven’t consistently played up to that high potential.

Why do we decide to start taking awful shots at halftime?
Admitted, I’ve only closely watched Tennessee and Kentucky, and my basketball knowledge is, um, limited to say the least — but our shooting appears to go downhill after the half.
Team Speed Kills. All SEC, all the time.
You're only half right. We were taking bad shots all game. The thing was, we were making them in the first half and then stopped making them in the second half.
Our problem all game was that we either couldn’t or weren’t trying hard enough to move the ball around enough to get open shots, get it down low, etc. You know, basic basketball strategy. We were just heaving up threes as soon as we got the chance. Zam Fredrick is the guiltiest party here. He made those three long balls early and then started throwing it up whenever he got his hands on the ball.
