How are you going to spend your summer: Open Thread
So... Spring practice is officially over. That means that we all have to find ways to spend the next couple of months. Luckily, its summer (my favorite time of the year) and finding good ways to pass the time seam to come pretty easy. I for one will spend the next couple of months partaking in a variety of activities. Surfing, beaching, boating, drinking, and maybe some traveling. Hopefully, by the time fall practice starts up, I'll be knee deep into grad school in Cola. (Keeping my fingers crossed)
What are all of ya'll's big summer plans? Go ahead, let us know.

Summer...
I’m a grad student myself (good luck getting in!), and most of my summer will be spent getting started studying for my comps, which I’ll be taking at some point next year. I will also be looking for a part-time job of some sort, hopefully something that won’t look completely irrelevant on my CV when I go on the job market after I finish my degree. Not that, in this economy, I won’t be happy just to find something that pays the bills.
Other than that, who knows? Depending on the time and money I have available, I hope to travel a bit. I haven’t gotten to go to Boston since I moved from Columbia to Rochester in 2007, so I’d like to do that. I’ll also probably try to make it back home at some point and spend some time on the beach. And, of course, I plan on spending some time in the back yard grilling and drinking beer, just like any other red-blooded American. Actually, I’ll have to say that since moving I’ve truly learned the value of a summer afternoon spent hanging out in the sun. Four-five months in the snow puts things in perspective for you…
