Dr. Saturday Picks the Low-Hanging Fruit
Not much to see here, folks. Matt Hinton over at Dr. Saturday writes an article that pretty much anyone with their GED in football could have written. I figure his thought process behind this one went something like this:
"Man, I need to think of an idea for my next blog entry. What about that Steve Spurrier guy? I haven't heard much from him in awhile. Let's see... not winning as much as he was at Florida? Failure. ...And he's going on his fith year? Woooah mama. Jackpot! This puppy is going to write itself!"
I mean really. There's little thought put into this article with pretty much zero substance added to the discussion around South Carolina football. I can't even get that mad about this marlarky. *Yawn*

This article is clearly below Dr. Saturday's usual standards.
He basically rehearses the kind of of worn arguments that you see on UGA and Clemson message boards, albeit a bit more articulately. I’m not really sure what would possess someone like Hinton to write an article like this; it seems so clear to me that the jury is still out on the Spurrier tenure at USC that any attempt to call it a failure or a success without extreme qualification is going to run into lots of problems. It doesn’t surprise me that Gamecocks homers or haters would try to make those sorts of arguments, but I would have expected more of someone that’s usually pretty cool and level-headed like Hinton.
