SEC East Championship Set For 7:15pm on ESPN or ESPN2

Uscvsuf2005_medium

The South Carolina Gamecocks will play the Florida Gators for what will most likely be the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division Championship on November 13th at 7:15pm on either ESPN or ESPN2 in Gainesville, FL.  #17 South Carolina is currently 6-2 (3-2) and coming off of a win against Tennessee.  Florida improved to 5-3 (3-3) after defeating Georgia in overtime at the game formerly known as the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.  This week, the Gators travel to Nashville to play Vanderbilt (2-6, 1-4).  Carolina plays #19 Arkansas (6-2, 3-2) in the friendly confines of Williams-Brice Stadium, where the Gamecocks have now won 16 of their last 19 games.  While a Gator loss to the Commodores and a South Carolina victory over the Razorbacks would make the title of this post obsolete and crown the Gamecocks SEC East Champs, a Carolina loss and probable Florida win will not disrupt the Gamecocks' shot in Gainesville.  South Carolina has never won at The Swamp.  They may have to in order to achieve another thing they've never done - play for a ring in Atlanta.  The time is now.

Its a great feeling to know that Carolina is not out of the East race at this point, unlike many years past. Overall we had a decent performance against TN but, our secondary is really starting to worry me. There is no reason for all the screw ups we are having. We have tons of talent and speed back there, so whats the problem? I don’t think its scheme. With ARK coming to town, I’m extremely nervious. One of the best passing offenses in the country is coming and the only part of our game that seems to be having major issues is our secondary! Hopefully EJ will get a good game plan that he can execute. They proved they could play against Bama, now its time to show it again. We are getting closer and closer to the final showdown, it would be nice to have an upset and not have to worry about it when we head to the Swamp, although we really need to let FL know that we mean business and give them a run for their money in the Swamp. I can’t take all the excitement and anxiety! GO COCKS!

I think the biggest thing is lack of effort

they aint gotta make as many stops or play lights out like in years past, since our offense is able to score nearly at will now. I thought we had a group of guys that would put forth the right effort during games reguardless, but that is the only real response I have to their play.

I'll be there!

Will be my first non-Clemson road game of my college career. Hopefully surrounded by Gamecock fans!

Awesome

It should be a great experience. Hopefully emerging with a big “W”.

It seems like we lways get night games on the road

and 12 or 3:30 games at home in conference play. I know that is not the case, but I would like the other team’s home crowd to be just waking up every once in awhile.

It's definitely been the case this year.

4 SEC away games and all at night. Auburn, UK, Vandy, and UF. This weekend will be our only SEC home game that’s occurred at night.

Seems like

unless you’re the squib SEC Network GOTW (the heir to the old Jefferson-Pilot, Raycom, Lincoln Financial “Tthree Daves” show), or the SEC on CBS 3:30 game, then you’re probably going to be playing in the evening on ESPN.
