SEC Power Poll Ballot: Post-Bowls

Powerpoll2010logo_medium

This is my final ballot for the SEC Power Poll. Make sure to check out Team Speed Kills for the final results.

1. Auburn Tigers

No surprises here.

2. LSU Tigers

Gary Crowton all the sudden looks like an offensive mastermind after his group finally came of age late in the season.

3. Arkansas Razorbacks

Not really sure who to put here out of Ark. and 'Bama. 'Bama did better in the post-season, but Ark. had a better regular season and played a tougher opponent in their bowl. I'll go with Ark.

4. Alabama Crimson Tide

Very impressive win over Michigan St. gives 'Bama some consolation after a disappointing season.

5. Mississippi St. Bulldogs

The Bulldogs wrapped up one of their best years in recent memory, and the best news is that Dan Mullen will be back for a possible run at the SECCG in 2011.

6. South Carolina Gamecocks

The Chick-fil-A Bowl was a disappointing finish to a historic season for South Carolina.

7. Florida Gators

Not a bad finish for Urban Meyer's Gators in the Outback Bowl.

8. Tennessee Volunteers

I'm putting them ahead of Georgia because I think they got robbed in their bowl game...

9. Georgia Bulldogs

Whereas the Dawgs just stunk the place up. Either way, neither team did the SEC's reputation any favors by losing to UNC and a Conference USA team.

10. Kentucky Wildcats

A very disappointing finish for what at one time appeared to be a very promising season in Lexington. South Carolina fans feel your pain, 'Cats.

11. Mississippi Rebels

A forgettable season for the Rebels.

12. Vanderbilt Commodores

About what you'd expect from a Vandy team with a homey interim coach.

Unfortunately ...

it’s impossible to argue with these numbers.

We can take some solace in the fact we’re in the upper division (if you think of the SEC as an upper 6 and a lower 6) and that we have a national post season ranking, even if it’s a modest # 22.

They wore garnet helmets.

I think you could argue that we're better than Mississippi State...

But I chose not to. However, they got a much easier draw in their bowl game.
