Officiating and Oline
Both sucked! The game should not have been that close if the officials had not overturned rulings on the field and had not missed numerous holding calls. Our dline was held all day!!!
A great win for Shaw and the team, we did what we had to do to win. Spurrier mentioned postgame that the oline is not getting any push on the ball and that is a hard fact. Coach mentioned Brandon Wilds twice and assume he will be the starter with some Ellington in the mix. Kenny Miles may be able to come back. We should beat UT but again it will be close. We will not be blowing anyone out however no one should blow us out either, nailbiter city. We have to do better on third down conversions on both sides of the ball, but a win is a win.
6-1 and bowl eligible, Go Cocks!

This was exactly the type of game that the team loses with Garcia as QB.
I see this as progress. I have faith in Wilds being able to take advantage of teams doubling Alshon for the next couple games.
Braves.
Falcons.
Gamecocks.
Absolutely
Shaw makes much better decisions. Makes a difference if our qb is sober. I am impressed with Wilds and so is the hbc. 6-1 225, that is pro material.

Still shaking my head at the officiating.
The missed holds were the worst part. But what about the “running into the kicker” penalty? Looked about as close to roughing as anything I can imagine. Or the MSU player ripping Alshon’s helmet off. No personal foul?

I was wondering the same thing
the Bulldog player ripped it off maliciously and in spite. No penalty. Thank goodness Alshon didn’t celebrate, though. Penn Wagers would have been there to flag him for 15. I feel shame that Wagers is a South Carolinian.
Apparently, only South Carolina holds. Other teams are just blocking. Ignore the way the Gamecock jerseys seem to bunch up and pull away in the opposing teams’ hands.
Lousy officiating in downcard games is a real problem in the SEC.

Yep
Got so wrapped in our guys jerseys being torn off their backs I forgot about the “running” into the kicker and the helmet being torn off Alshon. Shameful.

Would like to know what the refs were watching on the reviews?!
Also don’t forget the blown reviews by the REFs that they let stand or overturned against us. Horribly called game but….
I really feel like things are looking up for us compared to earlier this season. Shaw did exactly what he needed to do. Manage the game don’t make horrible mistakes, connect when the game is on the line and win on the road in the SEC. It hurts not to have Lattimore but I almost feel better about the team than 2 weeks ago with Garcia at the helm.
