Spencer Lanning Class Act

I read an article sent to me by my brother who lives in Greenwood SC. The article was in the Greenwood indexjournal about Spencer helping out the kicker from Ware Shoals High. Spencer was this kids hero and his Dad told Spencer through facebbok that his son was a kicker and that Spencer was his hero. Spencer invited the kid and his Dad down and worked with him. This kids name is Jeremy Thompson and is a freshman starting on the varsity team and that last night he kicked a 40 yard field goal with room to spare and was either 5/5 or 6/6 on xtra points. He also said he is killing the ball on kickoffs and actually had to kick from the 35 yard line after a penalty and kicked it to the 5. Im proud to be part of a gamecock family that has classy players like this.... Thanks Spencer for being such a great role model. And good luck to Jeremy... a fellow Gamecock fan

Thats awesome that he is giving back like this. I actually wrote aboutth is kid earlier on a GT site. Hopefully this kid continues to progress… He has a great start being able to play for his varsity team in the 9th grade. He is good now but will be outstanding by the time he is a senior. He will be one of those rare scholarship offers to a kicker

Spencer

does anyone know if Spencer got picked up? I know he was cut by the Bears. He would make a team a heckuva kicker/punter. If I remember correctly he was a captain his his senior season which is unheard of for a kicker. I have read the article again since my first post and just cant get over it… love love love stories like that.
