Offensive Coordinator

Stay connected for news and updates

I know my focus should strictly be on the Arkansas game, but I'm in reflective mode. The other day I went hard on Steve Spurrier about how he doesn't believe in nor care about SC the state. I still feel like that. But as I said, I respect his experience, recruiting ability and wins. But in the end, we need someone as our Offensive Coordinator. We NEED someone fresh and new to open things up for us. I'm talking about hiring someone to do the job, because the OC is a job title right? With Spurrier calling all the offfenseive plays, I think it's somethings he is missing. He needs someone to focus strictly on offense to maximaze and utilize all of the potential of our players. Case in point, Ellis Johnson. Did anyone, before the season believe we would be a Top 5 nat'l defense before the season? I thought not. But SC's talent level has gotten better and we have a defensive coordinator to focus on just defense and he is putting them in the right situations. Great job EJ. Now Gilmore needs to step up, but it's all good. So that brings me back to my point. Imagine if Spurrier let someone come in and open our offense up and focus solely on offense. I think it would definitely help the players, because I really and truly believe, Spurrier is stubborn and afraid to change his ways. Do you know that a man isn't going to have real success unless he is able to adapt to everything around him. He's had success, plenty of it. but how much in the much downtrodden football program at South So Spurrier I hope you open up the playbook or hire an OC. I think with our talent gettting better would could really be even more special. Again who really thought our defense would be this good??
