Blogpoll Ballot Draft: Week Three

Stay connected for news and updates

Here is the draft of my SB Nation Blogpoll Ballot. Let me know what you think.

1. Oklahoma Sooners

2. LSU Tigers

3. Alabama Crimson Tide

4. Wisconsin Badgers

5. Boise St. Broncos

Oklahoma proved itself against FSU; that was an impressive road win in a very hostile environment. That's the kind of thing national titles are built on. LSU and Alabama appear to be the cream of the SEC; I expect both to go undefeated until the play each other. The Badgers are looking solid with Russell Wilson under center. Boise is hard to peg because they simply don't have a tough enough schedule, but with Kellen Moore under center, they could beat anyone on a good day.

6. Oklahoma St. Cowboys

7. Stanford Cardinal

8. Texas A&M Aggies

9. Nebraska Cornhuskers

10. Florida St. Seminoles

OSU, Stanford, and A&M all have great offenses, but I feel they lack the defensive strength of the top five teams. Nebraska is beginning to return to its early 2010 form. Despite the loss, I was impressed with FSU's physical defense last night. I don't think they'll lose a game in the ACC.

11. Oregon Ducks

12. Arkansas Razorbacks

13. Florida Gators

14. South Carolina Gamecocks

15. Virginia Tech Hokies

Oregon has bounced back from the loss to LSU and should be able to rise in the rankings from here on out. Arkansas, Florida, and South Carolina are the second tier in the SEC; these teams each have strengths that make them very dangerous, but they also have weaknesses that will likely cause them to drop games over the course of the season. I'm not sure if Virginia Tech is the 15th best team in the country, but it's going to win lots of games this year because of its schedule, and I feel it's a surer bet than some of the other options.

16. Georgia Tech Yellowjackets

17. West Virginia Mountaineers

18. Clemson Tigers

19. Baylor Bears

20. Illinois Illini

At this point, I'm beginning to throw stuff at the wall. We'll see which of these teams sticks over the course of the year. Tech's offense looks to have returned to form after last year's struggles; that'll win them some games in the ACC. WVU--another great offense that should run roughshod over the Big East. Clemson is a tough one to peg because they struggled against weak opposition in the first two games, but you have to give them some credit for the Auburn win, even if it's very possible that Auburn was overrated. Baylor--another great offense that's dangerous in shootouts. Illinois seems like a solid pick to be a middle-of-the-pack Big Ten team.

21. Southern California Trojans

22. Houston Cougars

23. Iowa St. Cyclones

24. Miami Hurricanes

25. Michigan Wolverines

Again, throwing stuff at the wall here. These are all teams that have won some nice games early but still have a lot to prove.
