Surprised
Especially when his brother is wearing clemsux orange to the visit. What a pick up. We need this since we will not know the status of Lattimore and Miles.
Yep
We have three backs coming off knee surgeries (Lattimore, Carson and Salley), one guy thinking seriously about transferring (Miles) and only one healthy veteran with any real experience (Wilds). Davis is about as critical a pick-up as we might have made in this whole recruiting class, and it’s a bit of luck that he decommited from UF when he did.

Exactly
and I am concerned about Wilds. His diminshed pt down the stretch leads me to believe that he is in the HBC dog house, which is not a good place to be.
Great day for the Cocks. We continue to recruit at a high level.

Hmmmmm
you may be on to something. But my gut reaction was that once Kenny’s wrist had healed to the point he was 100%, he was able to insert Kenny into the CU game and number 31 really delivered. Then I perceive there was some heart-to-heart with the HBC, Kenny and Eric Baker. Baker (who never totally recovered from his own knee blow-out) and the HBC decided to part ways on good terms.
On the other hand, I feel Spurrier realized during the Capitol One Bowl prep that with his RB corps depleted, Jay Graham defecting to Tennessee and no guaranty we could land a guy like Keith Marshall (which we didn’t), we had to do something to keep Kenny Miles at Carolina as an insurance policy. Hence, he fed Kenny the rock against the Huskers. He really didn’t have to justify himself to a true frosh like Brandon Wilds, who isn’t going anywhere and knows he will get a ton of first-team touches in the spring, and compete on equal footing (no pun intended) with Lattimore and Carson – and now Davis- in august camp.
So I wonder if Brandon’s really in the doghouse, or Coach Spurrier was doing what he needed to do to keep Kenny Miles, a proven veteran, in garnet and black one more season.

Good ?
But I think that the HBC completely abandoned Wilds. He was in on one series v. Nebraska, dropped a pass that was behind him and disappeared to the sidelines for the remainder of the game. You know how when the HBC is pissed and playing time or lack thereof is the manifestation of how he feels about a player. Just a thought.

Im not saying you're not right
but I think it’s just as reasonable to think the HBC was favoring Miles to keep him at Carolina. I guess we’ll never know for certain … if Brandon did get in the doghouse however, for his fumble against the Hogs, or for a slow-start against Clemson, he’s got spring ball and august camp to reestablish himself in the HBC’s good graces, which is gracious plenty time.

Good point about Miles. I wonder if this commitment has any bearing on his decision to leave.
But anyway, great pick-up for the Cocks. NSD can’t get here soon enough so we can get all these players locked in!

I really, really, really want Miles to stay
I’ve been high on Kenny since the ’09 campaign.

Davis is going to be a good back.
Strong pickup.
