Jeep Hunter Fired

I have to confess I didn't see this one coming. Did he not pull his weight in recruiting? Did he and Coach Ward not get along after Whammy was promoted? Was he diffident about being moved to defense? I suppose we'll learn more in the coming days.

Is this about recruiting?

Jeep was the lead on 0 commitments this year, and not more than 2 in either of the past 2 years. Since his area includes south Florida (and there is a ton of talent there) that’s not a super haul.

From the Gamecock central article: “Hunter was not listed as the attributed recruiter for any of USC’s 2012 committed prospects. Hunter was credited with recruiting Mike Matulis and Deon Green last season as well as Ronald Patrick in the 2010 recruiting cycle.”
