With a victory on Monday against Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl, Spurrier’s Gamecocks would win 11 games for the first time in school history. If that happens, the Ole Ball Coach has said he will give his players rings to commemorate the special occasion. To do so, South Carolina needs to end a three-year losing streak in bowl games.

I hope that he checks with the NCAA before doing this. I think it’s a great idea if the NCAA allows it…. after all, they wouldn’t even let Mark Richt give some of his assistants money out of his own pocket.

SOS mentioned after the game that they are paying for the rings with money from each of the players' bowl allocation.

Yeah, I think this is a done deal. It's coming out of previously allocated money.

I think losing Gilmore will hurt. We are losing Ingram, Robertson, etc. to graduation. We need some leadership on defense next year. In other words, I hope Gilmore stays. If not, next man up.

We can get leadership from guys like Shaq Wilson, Devin Taylor, DeVonte Holloman, D.J. Swearinger, etc.

If Gilmore goes, it will hurt our depth at CB, but I’m hearing excellent things about Ahmad Christian as a backup for Auguste and Hampton. I think we’re in a good position on defense again next year. Frankly, I expect Clowney to have 12-15 sacks (no, I don’t think this is exaggerating), and Taylor will get his, too, so our corners will have some help.
