Gamecock Football
Post & Courier: USC's Ingram, Allen to play in Senior Bowl. GoGamecocks.com has a free story on this additional honor for both here.
Spur of the Moment: Darryl Slater writes about Jeffery, Gilmore and the other losses to the USC football team.
Bleacher Report: Alex Roberts writes about Gamecocks' Final Big Recruits to Announce at All-American Game.
Palmetto Recruiting: Eric Guimaraes reports that USC has made a gray-shirt offer to Gaffney WR Quinshard Davis. Davis is a D-I level WR who's also being pursued by UT and UNC; he was someone always very interested in USC, but did not commit early and fell through after we took commitments from Shaq Roland, Jody Fuller and Kwinton Smith. He will not be a bad pick up (and is likely looking at a red-shirt if he comes to Carolina) but I worry that the sub-text here is that staff has become convinced we've missed out on Bullard, McCord and Shumate? The good news is that we're much further along with junior h.s. recruits (class of 2013) than I can ever remember at this point.
Gamecock Anthem: Wes Mitchell does an in-depth interview with Nicholas St. Germain. Free content.
Anderson Independent Mail: Brad Senkiw writes: Shaw a big reason for USC's success.
Gamecock Basketball
Post & Courier: Darryl Slater previews the USC-UK game tonight - Kentucky starts brutal stretch for Gamecocks.
Lexington Herald-Leader: Notes on USC-UK from the 'Cats perspective. A Vince Dooley Award for poor-mouthing goes to John Calipari: "The Gamecocks "play a lot like Louisville plays," said Calipari, who suggested the Cats will be in "a war" against South Carolina." I hope so, but I won't bet the mortgage on it, either.
CBS Sports: South Carolina at Kentucky preview.
Checking in on the Competition
NBC Sports: Having finalized the ruthless despoilation of South Carolina's 2012 schedule, the evil mastermind known as Greg McGarity, the Georgia A.D., is reportedly working on extending D.C. Todd Grantham's contract. No word yet on the status of CMR's extension talks.
Florida Times-Union: JU's Kerwin Bell no longer in UF coaching mix. According to this report, it's looking more and more like Will Muschamp will remove the "interim" tag from O.C. Brian White. At the same paper, though, blogger Hays Carlyon says that: UF considering Bell for QB coach, not coordinator. And White may still have some competition from a dark horse candidate - Brian Pease of Boise State, who reportedly in the mix for both the UF and Bama offensive coordinator positions.
Mr. SEC: In fact, John Pennington is reporting that Pease Visiting Florida, Then Alabama.
National Football Post: SEC head coach on the hottest seat ? All the problems in Knoxville are keeping me up at nights! Really! (Ed - Is it bad to enjoy another program's suffering so much, when we've endured so much of our own?) Do I even have to answer that?
ESPN.com: Hugh Freeze gets bonus for SEC wins. A $100k-a-game bonus? Seriously? Is that a good idea, Ole Miss? Or are you just being honest with all concerned?
Way Off the Beaten Path
San Francisco Chronicle: Larry Scott's reign of error in Pac-12 continues, A lot of what's going wrong with CFB can be laid at the feet of Mr. Scott.

I don't have any scoop on McCord
other than it’s between us and UF. Like I said, it’s reading tea leaves. I hope we get him. I think I;m on more solid ground to say that Bullard is definitely going to be a Gator, and that the Irish have turned Shumate.

Over at Dawg Sports
MaconDawg is one of their best recruiting writers; he says this about Ty McCord:
On the defensive side of the ball the East will feature Tampa standout Tyriq McCord, who’s actually scheduled to commit at the game. The rumor had been that academic concerns scared some schools aware from McCord. Nevertheless, he’s drawn interest from Georgia, Florida and South Carolina among others. McCord projects as a linebacker in our system, though whether it would be inside or outside is up for debate. If I had to guess his commitment at this point I’d bet on South Carolina. But I’m not 100% certain that McCord won’t have to detour to a junior college before getting to Columbia.
He also thinks Todd Gurley is likely to commit to UGA, which will push Mike Davis to USC.

Small Request
Tryptic, thanks for posting these long link-dumps, they’re pretty helpful. HOWEVER, when you write a post, I believe you’re given the option to have links open in a new tab. If you enable that, then readers can click on links of interest and continue to peruse your Daily Feed without having to continually go back and lose their place. Just a slight request, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the tip
I’m relatively new to the controls, so if you can give me a tip on how to do that (choose the new tab option) I’d appreciate it. And I appreciate the kind words.

There should be a little box you can check in the upper right hand corner when you compose posts.

I have not had any issues with this.
It would be a nice luxury, for sure. But on my Mac, I can just press ‘command’ and click and it opens in a new tab.
