Football players feed giraffes, Hokie fans lustily gaze in Shawn Elliott's general direction, and the Gamecocks look to fill recruiting needs and linebacker and wide receiver.

The Daily Feed is back and aiming to be more consistent now that the holidays are almost over.

Hokepoints Previews South Carolina | mgoblog
I've heard a lot of great things about mgoblog. It's so niche that it appears to be written in another language at times, and I respect the hell out of that. Their first entry previewing South Carolina was spot-on. This one swings and misses a good bit in its assessment of USC's season but has some interesting insights - that is, if you can filter out the weird animosity the writer has for the Gamecocks' conference membership, which feels as awkward as those old SportsCenter segments with Sean Salisbury and John Clayton hurling schoolyard pejoratives at one another.

It looks like some Virginia Tech fans have their eye on Gamecocks offensive line coach/run game coordinator Shawn Elliott to be their new offensive coordinator. Elliott turned down the head job at Appalachian State earlier this month and gave every indication that he intended to remain at South Carolina for the foreseeable future. As far as I know, the Hokies haven't quite fired their offensive coordinator yet, but based on their performance this season (97th nationally in yards per play), such a move could certainly be in the offing.
