Unofficial LOI's A-Rollin' In Thread

PrintWhile the build-up is somewhat anti-climactic compared to past years (and I for one appreciate that), 2012 NSD is not without some drama. Where will Chris Moody's LOI go? Will we any commits bail at the 11th hour? Is Joe Schad awake yet? At any rate, I thought we could keep an unofficial log of all those recruits who've faxed their letters to Columbia. As of 9:40 AM, our verified recruits are:
Chaz Elder
Rico McWilliams
Jody Fuller
Tj Gurley
Kendric Salley
Jerrell Adams
A few others have purportedly faxed their LOIs in, Including Carlos Hood, Kyle Fleetwood, Brendan Nostovich, and Mike Davis. So hopefully the day goes on without any major surprises. Shaq Roland signs at 10:30.
Scott Hood called National Signing Day the largest reality show for sports fans. I completely agree. Such hype, such build-up, and yet so silly to be lavishing this amount of attention on the 'contestants'. But man, is it fun to watch.

Shaping up great for the Gamecocks.
Same can’t be said for ECU though today, went 0 for 3 on our bigger recruits(Which is to say 3* grades from those rivals armchair guys); two to Duke and one to Ohio State.
And 2 guys have already not qualified.
This morning went from “This could be the greatest ECU recruiting class ever” to “Well…. lets just hope the ones we got can actually get aboard then….” in a span of a hour.

We have to get those academic questionable guys to try and level the playing field though.
Send them to a prep or JUCO school and hope we get them back in a year or two.
One of the guys who signed last year and couldn’t make it went to Hinds C.C. and had 14 sacks as freshman and is transferring this summer to ECU.

Best of luck bud. even though i will always be afraid of laying an egg when we play ECU, I kinda like the Pirates. Did you show them that GIF though? How could they resist that thing.

Oh yall gonna whip the tar out of us this year.
Defense front 7 will be good, might be the best in C-USA, but dunno how the DB’s will work outside of Magazu, who is a boss.
QB and oline will be a hot mess though for us early on, QB especially.
But we could still keep it ugly as hell, keep it close and scare the hell out of the HBC.
Really going to work out a way to get to Columbia for the game.
