Prior to the hiring of Frank Martin, one of the names that emerged last month as a potential replacement for Darrin Horn was Tennessee State Coach John Cooper. We may never know if Eric Hyman gave serious consideration to Cooper, but the consensus opinion was that his star was on the rise and that he was likely destined for bigger jobs in the very near future. Well, Cooper has gone ahead and taken that next step to coach the RedHawks in the MAC; I wouldn't be surprised if Cooper isn't offered a power-conference position in the next five years.
