Dylan Thompson: Will he be working with the first team today?

TFP - Signs in the street that say where you’re going, are somewhere just being their own.

Gamecock Football

The Sporting News: We're # 7 in the A.P. sportswriter's poll and # 8 in the USA Today coach's poll. Are we going to get our act together on offense, or are we titling for a fall?

Garnet & Cocky: Connor Shaw Injury Update. Trying to bring a little clarity amid all the rumors.

Sports Talk Radio: Three games in and no one has solved USC’s defense and Lattimore stands alone at USC for standing in the end zone. Plus: Spurrier concerned over line issues with good Missouri defense ahead . I won't lie to you - I thought the OL would be playing better by this point and I'm not sure what's going on; the competition is going to be ramping up on both sides of the ball.

Spur of the Moment: Highlights of Spurrier's Sunday call -- Shaw should be ready for Missouri, USC might shake up o-line. Something needs to happen on the offensive line - that is for sure.

A bumper crop of ripe links are just waiting to be harvested after The Jump!

Anderson Independent-Mail: USC's Spurrier says QB Connor Shaw 'should be able to play' Saturday. I don't think we should play Shaw against Mizzou; but this maybe the usual pre-game smokescreen.

St. Louis Dispatch: See - even Gary Pinkel doesn't know who'll be under center when the Missouri Tigers come calling to our Columbia: "It’s between him [James Franklin] and the medical staff. They make those decisions. I don’t make those decisions." The whole business about whether Franklin is a "conscientious objector" to pain meds has got to be an unwelcome distraction.

GoUpstate: Dylan Thompson's hometown paper obviously thinks things are a little more undecided on the QB front - Quarterback situation up in the air at South Carolina.

Post & Courier: The HBC isn't very happy with the lack of protection for signal-callers getting turfed - "...after the quarterback has thrown the ball and you know he’s already thrown the ball, that should be a defenseless player that we need to protect better."

The Negative Guy: Adaptability still Spurrier’s greatest weapon.

Aiken Standard: The A.P.'s Jeffery Collins writes that No. 7 South Carolina's defense leading way again. I'm not sure the HBC wants to be that adaptable. But [insert cliche] they are who we thought they were it is what it is.

Leftover Hotdog: Billy has the Gamecocks Football: UAB Field Report while Flounder elucidates on Five Things Learned from the UAB game.

The Daily Gamecock: Has up three great football articles on Lattimore, Thompson and Swearinger. The undergrads often do a better job than the pros.

Garnet Report: View from the Upper Deck: USC 49, UAB 6. Another student-written piece.

The Rubber Chickens: Snap Judgments – UAB @ USC Edition.

Meet Me at the 50: Doug Jolley has SEC Early Season Report Cards and Ronda posts: Bear it, wear it and other thoughts.

The Big Spur: John Whittle breaks down the past and future competition in Know your foe: Week 3 results.

Gamecock Football Recruiting

Palmetto Recruiting: Rodgers still feeling USC after first visit. Pull the trigger, Na'Ty!

AJC Recruiting Blog: I like this kid. A lot - South Carolina football recruit cancels UGA visit … with flat tire. All these shenanigans would be solved if there was a summer signing period before the start of fall camp.

Gamecock Baseball

Gamecock Central: It's fall practice time for the CWS Runners-Up, under new coach Chad Holbrook, and GC's Ron Aiken has scrimmage observations, photos and video.

Gamecock Basketball

Palmetto Recruiting: 6-9 Desmond Ringer of McDonough, GA gets close look at new USC program. This is a guy that Frank Martin is really high on.

Loose Feed

NBC College Football Talk: Richt is ‘hopeful’ Jarvis Jones plays against Vandy. More "Evil Richt" trickeration? Groin injuries are notoriously slow-healing.

ArkansasMatters.com: John L. Smith's days were always numbered in Fayetteville. They're just numbered a whole lot faster now.

CBS Sports: Miami home crowd outnumbered by orange seats. I hope we're using this during recruiting. Now I wasn't born yesterday - I know Miami cheats like crazy in recruiting. But honorable kids trying to pick between the U and USC should pay attention to the anemic fan support, as well as the dark clouds of another NCAA investigation. For as long as I can remember, the Canes' fan base has been best described as "three miles wide and three inches deep."

Crystal Ball Run: This was a nice snatch by Derek Dooley. Too bad it was from his own quarterback. During live action.
