IMO-We are becoming a very dangerous team!

All the hemming and hawing by myself given our inconsistency on offense were assuaged yesterday. After watching Mizzou inability to stop us, we were our own worst enemy in the first quarter, shows how much progress we are making. Shaw's passing efficiency yesterday shut down any talk of replacing him with Thompson, again, including myself. The fact that Mizzou gave us the underneath all day shows how much respect they have for our three legitimate deep threats in Ace, Damiere and Bruce. Mizzou and Pinkel watched tape on the last two games and made it a priority not to get beat deep and gave us the short to intermediate all day, pick your poison. We still are a work in progress with the running game but I like what I saw with 21, he is very close to being back. Now with the special teams a real threat, both on kickoffs and punt returns, we can compete with the LSU and Alabama. Thank you Coach Joe.

Second, our defense is one of the best in the country, period. Not having DJ in the secondary, we did not miss a beat. I think we may give up some yards and a few points but our red zone defense may be second to none. We are very difficult to run on and if an opposing qb wants to drop back-look out for Clowney, Taylor and Quarles. Plus I think we will only get better on that side of the ball as the season progresses and as the depth is improves with the return of Akeem, JT and Sherrod.

Finally, watching the game yesterday I never had the feeling that we were going to lose and that Mizzou basically had no chance. They are a good team with some talent, no they are not Alabama or even UGA, but they have talent on both sides of the ball even if they lack depth. I have not felt at any point this year, yes even Vandy, that we were in danger. When if ever as Gamecocks have we ever experienced this level of confidence? In my opinion, we will beat UGA and, oh no, I think we have a real shot v. LSU.
