Checking in from Alligator Army here, huge Gator fan. I'll be headed to Columbia for the first time ever, and I'm bringing my usual tailgate setup. I was hoping that ya'll fine folks over here at Garnet and Black Attack could give me some pointers and answer some questions I have.
1) Can someone give me a basic rundown of the parking/tailgate situation? Here in Gville, I park in the same private lot each week next to the stadium for $40 bucks, and it comes with room to set up the grill and tent. Is it a similar deal in Columbia, or do you pre-pay online and get a parking pass like some other schools I've been to?
2) I'm staying in the Marriot that says it's downtown in Columbia. Is it walking distance from the bars?
3) I'm actually sitting in the Gamecock booster section, so I'll have to be on my best behavior. I'm assuming that like most SEC fans I'll be treated pretty well as long as I mind my P's and Q's and not be overly obnoxious. Besides the obvious "act as you would like visiting fans to act in The Swamp", is there any etiquette I should be aware of? (For example, in The Swamp it is decidedly not okay for visiting fans to do the Gator chomp)
Thanks in advance, I'm looking forward to the visit and to watch a good SEC matchup.
