Butler (El Dorado, Kan.) Community College linebacker Da'von Durant is expected to commit to South Carolina when Gamecock assistant Kirk Botkin visits the four-star JUCO prospect next week.
Da'von Durant of Butler C.C. has been favoring USC literally for years dating back to his days as a Shrine Bowler at Greenwood High School. Tuesday he plans to finally take that next step by committing to the Gamecocks.
"Coach Botkin is coming out to see me," Durant said of his recruiter and Gamecock linebackers coach. "I'm ready. I'm excited to get back home and make plays." Durant and Botkin talked Wednesday night to finalize plans for the coach's visit next week and Durant said Botkin and USC "definitely" would accept his commitment.
Durant would be South Carolina's fifth four-star commitment in the 2015 class and the second four-star linebacker to join the fold. With Durant and four-star outside linebacker Sherrod Pittman expected to sign with USC, the Gamecocks should be plenty deep at the second level of the defense in coming seasons.

For what it's worth, the description that Durant entered for the video is "JungleBoi Jr.," which is a reference to former South Carolina safety and current Houston Texan D.J. Swearinger's nickname "JungleBoi Swaggg."
