If you kept up with the Clemson football team at all this spring, you know that they were in the throes of a QB battle that seemed is though it might last until we were well into fall practice. Their spring game cleared all of that up, though, when one QB was injured and another "got his panties in a wad." The latter, Chad Kelly, was rather unceremoniously kicked off of the team for what's being called a pattern of behavior.
The news as of yesterday afternoon is that Kelly will transfer to East Mississippi Community College where he'll likely play a year before transferring to the next Auburn national title contender. This brings me to a personal dilemma...do I continue to follow Kelly on twitter? If you haven't had the chance, I'd recommend checking out his twitter account where he doles out words of wisdom like this pearl:
Haters don't really hate you, they hate themselves because you're a reflection of what they wish to be...— Chad Kelly (@ChadKelly_11) April 25, 2014
In addition, he poses questions that really make you think:
At Some Point In Your Career You Have To Feed Your Family. When You Don't Have That Opportunity What Are You Suppose To Tell Your Family?— Chad Kelly (@ChadKelly_11) April 24, 2014
My God, he's like a modern day Descartes.
I initially followed Kelly as a goof of sorts. As the Justin Bieber of college football, he offered great material to make fun of my Clemson friends and loved ones for. But now those people are free to make fun of him just as much as me. What does a fairly reasonable Carolina fan do in this situation?
I can't tell you that I have the correct answer to that question, but I can tell you what I plan to do. I'm going to continue following Kelly. I'll bide my time until he poses one of his famous life questions, and reply with a very sarcastic response. At that point, I'll probably get blocked by him. But hey, doesn't that mean I won?
