Women's Basketball
The State: It's an exhibition game tonight at 7 for the women's basketball team as they take on Newberry, and a few players will be held out due to injuries. Fortunately, they should be pretty much full go when Ohio State stops by for the season opener next week.
ESPN: Fresh off first Final Four, South Carolina aims even higher. Yep, the spotlight's pretty bright for the Gamecocks as they go into the 2015-16 season looking to be the last team standing in Indianapolis next spring. Plus, star players ready to take over the upcoming season. Tiffany Mitchell is one of those "star players" mentioned, and she was up at ESPN with coach Dawn Staley and some of the top players and coaches in the country.
Baseball
The Big Spur (247Sports): Stokes' walkoff wins World Series for Black. The Garnet and Black World Series ended last night on a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth by Madison Stokes - the only run of a game scheduled for seven innings at Lexington County Baseball Stadium. However, the big winner was the Salvation Army: fans in attendance donates $4,300 to help with flood relief efforts in the Midlands. Good stuff.
