South Carolina remains at No. 1 in Baseball America Top 25

Despite dropping their first game of the season on Friday, the Gamecocks' pair of wins over Ole Miss in Saturday's double-header were enough to keep the Gamecocks ranked atop Baseball America's poll.

Columbia will be home to the UIFL's Capital City Revolt starting in 2015

The Ultimate Indoor Football League will be adding the Capital City Revolt to its current five-team roster beginning with the 2015 season. The Columbia, S.C. franchise will be coached by former Gamecock Willie Scott.

Gamecocks post best 3-point percentage in 25 years

South Carolina hit 73% (11/15) on 3s in their 74-56 victory over Auburn on Wednesday night in the opening round of the SEC Tournament. That's the best rate by a Gamecock team in 25 years.

Sindarius Thornwell and B.J. McKie had very similar freshman seasons.

B.J. McKie is widely regarded as the best player in the history of the South Carolina basketball program. So Gamecock fans will be encouraged to learn that Sindarius Thornwell's 2013-14 shares some striking statistical similarities with McKie's freshman campaign.

South Carolina is the last undefeated team in college baseball and, after shutting out Brown in all 27 innings of their series against the Bears this weekend, the Gamecocks have finally ascended to the top position in the Baseball America poll. This marks the first time since South Carolina won the College World Series in 2011 that the Gamecocks have occupied the No. 1 spot.

Tiffany Mitchell selected as Wooden Award finalist

South Carolina guard Tiffany Mitchell is one of 15 players -- and one of just two sophomores -- selected as a finalist for the 2014 John R. Wooden Award, "bestowed upon the nation’s best player at an institution of higher education who has proven to his or her university that he or she is making progress toward graduation and maintaining a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA." The Wooden Award All-America team will be announced on the weekend of the Sweet Sixteen. The Wooden Award Player of the Year will be announced on April 12.
