One team will be wrapping up its season today; the other will have a game remaining against the #1 team in the College Football Playoff standings. While this looks like a typical FCS vs. FBS matchup on the surface, it won't be easy by any means; The Citadel enters as the #25 team in the lower division standings (hoping that their resume sets them up for a playoff bid after clinching a share of the Southern Conference crown.) Mike Houston, who took the job in Charleston last year, has led a five-win team from a year ago to seven wins - only their fourth winning season since 1997 and tied for the program's most wins since 11 in 1992 - just two years removed from taking Lenoir-Rhyne to the Division 2 national championship game (Could Houston be setting himself up for a Group of Five post in the near future?). For the Gamecocks, it's a chance to get a win going into the big game on November 28 against their rivals up the road in Upstate South Carolina.
