We're free! Moose is gonna be a Cock! Now bring on @ThatsJoshGray, please...
I had an opportunity late last week to podcast with Curtis Kitchen regarding all things K-State, but mainly, we just talked about the basketball hire. If you're interested...click the linky.
What is with all the basketball coaches making downward moves recently? First Frank, now these two clowns? I've heard of failing upward, but mildly succeeding laterally? That's a new one. I guess getting out ahead of the posse is the new trend in college basketball coaching.
Maybe it's just me, but I didn't hear a definitive "No" in there anywhere. Frank Martin would be proud of such coachspeak.
SBNation's K-State blog has a really good summary of what happened with Frank Martin and why Martin is now a Gamecock instead of a Lil' Manhattan Cat. If you want to know why Martin is taking over a program that's had one NBA Draft pick in the past 14 years (the immortal Ronaldo Balkman), well, here's why.
Time to figure out our AD situation and go hire a new coach.
This is interesting on a couple of levels. First, Martin is insisting he has not talked to anyone. Second, my sources among the South Carolina fanbase inform me that South Carolina HAS interviewed Frank, and that they've made their decision on their hire. Something is not kosher.
Quick blurb from the mothership. Nothing more than hearsay, but you know. We're going to need to keep it on the radar.
Jamar Samuels scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half on Sunday night and Kansas State used a 10-0 second-half run to take command and beat Virginia Tech 69-61.
Kansas State head coach Frank Martin announced on Friday the addition of former Wildcat letterman Darren Kent and Eric Rodriguez to the program as graduate managers.
