ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- The fallout from Michigan's stunning loss to Appalachian State continued Sunday, as coaches, players and fans reacted to the Wolverines' defeat Saturday.
"I lost a debate Friday night to that bimbo from South Carolina," coach Lloyd Carr said. "Maybe I should have seen that as some kind of a sign."
Miss South Carolina Teen USA herself reacted, saying: "The reason that Michigan players from America didn't do is because South Africa and should spread offense Michigan like such as maps blocked kick."
"I lost a game of Scrabble on Thursday to somebody who couldn't speak English," quarterback Chad Henne said.
Some Michigan fans appeared to lose their sanity. Others went into hiding. Some called for Carr's firing.
Others were less kind.
"See, I told you Southern Cal's schedule sucked," Les Miles said. "The toughest team they've played in a year is Michigan, a real powerhouse, let me tell you.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go look over the gameplan for our showdown in two weeks with Middle Tennessee State."
