Live-blogging Tommy Tuberville

10:54 a.m. Tuberville felt better until he saw that the media voted the Tigers first in the SEC West. "Y'all are never right, so it puts me in a bind."

10:55 a.m. Kodi Burns is not a lock for the starting QB job. The decision will be made within 10-12 days of the beginning of practice. "We will have a true starter."

10:59 a.m. "This year we have 20 commitments." Watch it, Tommy; you'll get on Brian's bad side if you recruit too many more.

11:02 a.m. Auburn's spread is different than anyone else's spread. So there!

11:03 a.m. The room seems even colder today. C&F is unsure about whether this is due to the wind generated by the flapping of Tuberville's ears.

11:06 a.m. Tuberville is asked why he hired Bobby Petrino and what he thinks about the Gypsy Coach of the South's return to the SEC. "I didn't know he was Judas, and I'm just glad he didn't get back in the SEC by coaching at Auburn." That could just be what C&F thought he heard.

11:09 a.m. For all the talk you hear about Tuberville being The Riverboat Gambler -- an area in which he's almost unquestionably been surpassed by Les Miles -- the man from the Plains sure gives a conservative press conference.

11:12 a.m. Tuberville says he's got nothing against Petrino. "You don't shy away from it, you talk about it, you get it out of the way, but you let your players know it's not going to be any distraction whatsoever." And that you want them to annihilate the other team.

11:13 a.m. Departing for a little while. Should be back shortly.

12:44 p.m. Took longer than I thought; missed Petrino entirely. But the main event is next.
