South Carolina at Auburn Preview Capsule and Open Thread

Here is the place to talk about today's important road game against the Tigers. This is a kind of game--a road contest against a very average team-- that we need to win if we're going to have a respectable season.

Auburn Tigers Capsule

Record: 9-6

Good Wins: None

Bad Losses: Missouri St. Bears, Central Florida Golden Knights, Sam Houston St. Bearcats

Team Strengths: FG Percentage (46.0), Steals Per Game, Turnover Margin

Team Weaknesses: Outside Shooting (32.5 Three-Point FG Percentage), FG and Three-Point FG Percentage Defense, Free Throw Percentage (65.1), Personal Fouls

Season Thus Far: The Tigers have disappointed thus far in what is probably a make-or-break year for coach Jeff Lebo, whose job is probably on the line this season. Against a fairly weak OOC schedule, they lost close to the only very good team they've played, the Florida State Seminoles, and have lost a few others to average to poor competition, sometimes in ugly fashion.

What to Expect: In many ways, Auburn is a lot like us. They're a small, up-tempo team and are relatively shallow in terms of depth. They're a little more efficient on offense and a little less so on defense, although it's difficult to compare due to the difference in scale of competition.

Prediction: 4-8 Points Gamecocks Victory
