Good morning, Gamecock Fans!
Gamecock Football
GoGamecocks.com: Capital One Bowl Q&A with Steve Spurrier. On the free side of The State's pay wall so you don't have to feel dirty checking it out.
GoGamecocks.com: Melvin Ingram named to the Walter Camp Foundation All-America Team. Another freebie (Ed.- what? You think I'd pay for The State coverage?). A well-deserved honor.
Orlando Sentinel: Steve Spurrier: ‘You can’t spell Citrus without USC'. Betcha didn't see that zinger coming? Oh? You say you did? It's week-old stale toast? Well, it's a riff on one of the HBC's great barbs, though not on the level of Free Shoes University, or "some of the books lost in the fire were still uncolored."
Cocky Country Blog: Honors Keep Rolling In For Gamecocks. Kate Dzwierzynski does an excellent job of rounding up all the Gamecocks' individual post-season honors. I really like her blog - check out her take on whether departing assistants should be honor-bound to stick around for the bowl game, too.
Loose Feed
AggieSports.com: Straight from the College Station paper, we learn: Nothing happening on A&M coaching front . While Texas A&M interviewed Kirby Smart, it looks as if the main target is still Houston's Kevin Sumlin. I sense the Aggie Nation is a bit stressed by the delay. Additionally - rumors that Georgia's Mark Richt is interested in the job are dispelled.
Orlando Sentinel: Merry Christmas, Gators: Charlie Weis is leaving! . If you were worried that EDSBS's Spencer Hall was in the minority at being simultaneousy elated and vitriolic at the departure of Gator O.C. Charlie Weis, this should dispel any concern that most Gator fans disagree with him.
Rock Hill Herald Online: S.C.'s Mr. Football to be announced today in Myrtle Beach. USC WR commitment Shaq Roland of Lexington is the favorite. If he wins, that would be the Gamecocks' fourth South Carolina Mr. Football in a row (joining Stephon Gilmore, Marcus Lattimore and Jadeveon Clowney). Perhaps as impressive a streak as three wins over Clemson.
The State / Morris: Negative Guy writes Catching the SEC not an easy feat.

TRC: Like Where’s Waldo, But Better. If you wanted to see the rivalry summed up in one photo, this is it.
