In my opinion, this commitment is as big as any in this class. I'm of the school that believes championships are won with great defensive lines, and with great DTs hard to come by (there just aren't enough 300+-pound behemoths to go around), a quality interior is often what creates separation between the winners and the losers. Signing Dukes and Kelcy Quarles will give us quality talent at the position for the foreseeable future. Moreover, what makes this a special draw for Carolina is that Dukes reportedly favored Clemson early in the process and probably didn't get any encouragement from his high school coach to attend USC. The credit for this one goes to a strong finish to the 2010 season and a good effort by our coaching staff. Successes like these are what I hope will begin to make a permanent difference for our program.
Cedrick Cooper and Jadeveon Clowney, come on down and join the party.
