Update on Jadeveon Clowney and Video | Leftover Hot Dog
LOHD keeps us abreast of the Clowney situation.

Alabama is fading as a selection and now looks to be between Clemson and South Carolina for his services. He has been invited and may attend the Feb. 12th Clemson-UNC basketball game. All three coaches (Dabo, Spurrier and Saban) will continue to try to talk with Clowney on a weekly basis.

Is recruiting season over yet? By the way,  how pissed will Roderick Byers be if Clowney chooses Clemson?

Notes from Friday board Meeting | Spur of the Moment
As a former band member, I found this interesting:

Pastides was not critical of the band in any way, but the message is clearly being sent through the formation of the committee that the band needs improving. Most anyone who has been to a game would agree, relative to the other schools' bands. Some games, it's downright embarrassing to compare the two.

The school's athletics teams are being brought up to a competitive level; perhaps the band will be, as well.

Not a whole heck of a lot of news coming from the BOT meeting, otherwise. There is this, though:

Eddie Floyd asked why an improved indoor facility was not mentioned. Hyman said that's beyond even the plans that were mentioned, but it is on the books at some point. Perhaps it came up because Clemson recently announced it will construct an indoor facility.

Listen, we don't need to be following in Clemson's footprints. We've been doing our own thing since Eric Hyman got here and it's been working for us. Clemson is the one scrambling to keep up with us for the past couple of years. They're reacting to us, not the other way around.

LaKya Brookins Reclaims Nation's Fastest Time In 60m Dash | Gamecocks Online
It's not technically a national championship, but it might as well be.

In the bright lights of New York City at The Armory, South Carolina senior Lakya Brookins lined up for the 60-meter dash final at 7:57 p.m. and less than eight second later looked up to see that she had become the NCAA leader in the event for the second time this season.
