SEC Hoops Power Poll Ballot: 3/6-3/12

1. Florida Gators

Nice finish to the season. The Gators would appear to be back.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide

No cigar against Florida, but the Tide took care of business against UGA. Sadly, this team probably still has work to do to feel safe on Selection Sunday.

3. Kentucky Wildcats

Finally picked up a quality road victory at Tennessee.

4. Vanderbilt Commodores

Dangerous team, but not the best finish to the regular season.

5. Georgia Bulldogs

A win over Alabama would have really been good for their chances on Selection Sunday. Still, I think they make it.

6. Tennessee Volunteers

Another team whose finish may leave the selection committee with some negatives to ponder.

7. Mississippi St. Bulldogs

Coming on strong late. This could be a team to watch in the SEC Tournament.

8. Mississippi Rebels

NIT team. Again.

9. Arkansas Razorbacks

Failed to put the finishing touches on what could have been a solid season. Looking like the NIT for these guys.

10. Auburn Tigers

Tony Barbee deserves lots of credit for taking what was at the beginning of the season one of major college basketball's worst teams and making it respectable by year's end.

11. South Carolina Gamecocks

Two close games this week for the Gamecocks, but no win. Darrin Horn is now on the hot seat after his team's epic collapse this year. February may be the new November in Columbia.

12. LSU Tigers

All year long, LSU fans have been able to say "Well, at least we're not as bad as Auburn." Well, LSU just got smeared on its home court by Auburn. Not good.
