THE DAILY FEED 5.15.11 // Carolina Wins Series over Arkansas and Other News

Holmes' Career Day Leads Gamecocks Past Arkansas, 7-1 - SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS

Carolina took the series from Arkansas with a dominant Sunday victory. Colby Holmes pitched one of the best games we've seen from a Carolina pitcher this season, and Steven Neff came through with two home runs.

The victory, along with Florida's win over Vanderbilt, places Carolina in a three-way tie with the Gators and 'Dores atop the SEC standings. Unfortunately, there is no tiebreaker in the SEC baseball standings, so Carolina will not be able to put its head-to-head victories over the Gators and 'Dores to good use. Instead, we'll need to sweep next weekend and hope UF and VU each lose a game.
