Final ballot. Quick deadline on this, so no time for draft, but let me know if you disagree with any of my picks, and why.
You all know that I was vehemently against the rematch, so I'm reluctant to make this pick, because part of me feels that Alabama should have never been there in the first place. However, it's hard to argue with the kind of dominance Alabama put on the field in the game, which clearly suggested that the original results may have been a fluke.
2. LSU Tigers
All of that said about Alabama, you still have to feel for LSU. Hung tough all season and then lost the title to a team they had already beaten. It should be recognized, though, that LSU might have lost to other teams, as well, with such poor line and QB play.
You have to feel for the Hogs. Another excellent season, but they're stuck in the same division as Alabama and LSU, with Auburn sure to pose a third challenge next year. Of course, I doubt anyone minds seeing Petrino squirm.
Unlike LSU and Arkansas, the Gamecocks can't complain. After years of mediocrity, Carolina appears to have finally broken through, with two-straight good seasons and continued good prospects in sight.
The Outback Bowl summed up Georgia football--so close, yet so far. Dawgs fans will find consolation in the creampuff war known as their 2012 schedule.
The Tigers ended 2012 with a win in the Chick-fil-A Bowl and started 2012 by hiring Brian Van Gorder. Not bad.
Not impressed with their win over Ohio St. Mistake-filled game won by the less-crappy team.
Not the 2011 the Bulldogs envisioned at one point, but not a bad season. Things have been worse in Starkville.
Same as above. Maybe they didn't finish as well as they had hoped, but this isn't the same old Vandy.
Next year is going to be do-or-die time for Joker. The luster of beating Tennessee will wear off once Big Blue realizes Tennessee sucks, which they probably already do.
What red-blooded American isn't enjoying the Vols' travails?
Tough times for the Black Bears. The Hugh Freeze-thing seems to be a bit of a gimmick.
