SEC Hoops Power Poll Results: 1/1-1/7

As those of you who read this blog last year will remember, GABA hosts the SEC Hoops Power Poll, which gears up each year in January. Our apologies for not voting ourselves this week; tryptic and I are working on coming up with a plan for collaborating on GABA's vote. Here are this week's results, based on votes made by the other blogs involved.

1. Kentucky Wildcats 48 (unanimous)
2. Florida Gators 43
3. Mississippi St. Bulldogs 41
4. Alabama Crimson Tide 34
5. Vanderbilt Commodores 33
6. LSU Tigers 27
7. Arkansas Razorbacks 24
8. Mississippi Rebels 18
9. Georgia Bulldogs 16
10. Tennessee Volunteers 12
11. Auburn Tigers 9
12. South Carolina Gamecocks 6

See some of the voters' reactions after the jump.

Alabama

This isn't a make or break year for Anthony Grant, but after two seasons it will be interesting to see where the program is headed.--Dawg Sports

Arkansas

Mike Anderson will improve this team over the course of the season. They should be a tough group come March.--Alabama Basketball Blog

Auburn

We'll find out about that fancy record real quick: at Vandy, home to UK to open SEC play.--Rocky Top Talk

Florida

Fantastic offense, but they have to defend somebody.--A Sea of Blue

Georgia

Only two victories over opponents ranked better than 100. Sell.--A Sea of Blue

Kentucky

It's Kentucky's world; we're just living in it.--Alabama Basketball Blog

LSU

The Bayou Bengals are 10-4 and just played a solid Virginia team tight late into the game. I don't exactly know how to process this, but I'm intrigued by it.--Dawg Sports

Ole Miss

Too much talent on hand for the continued struggles. Kennedy's days might be numbered.--Alabama Basketball Blog

South Carolina

They look better since Ellington returned to the team, but hard to forget the early struggles.--Alabama Basketball Blog

Tennessee

Close games every night so far. Might have to settle for that in Year One with Cuonzo Martin.--Rocky Top Talk

Vanderbilt

I voted them 4th based on overall body of work, but what they did at full strength at Marquette was as good as any non-UK team has looked all year.--Rocky Top Talk
