Vote for Spurrier!

From Liberty Mutual:

The Gamecocks have been having quite a season and Coach Steve Spurrier is currently ranked No. 18 on the Liberty Mutual Coach of Year Award leaderboard among all FBS coaches. As the season winds down, he’s going to need the help – and votes – of Gamecock fans everywhere to ensure he stays in the running to be named a finalist for the 2012 award.

By way of background, in case you aren’t aware, the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award is the only college football award that supports both charity and scholarship through its winners. It honors one coach in each NCAA division who best exemplify sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility and excellence on and off the field.

Now through December 1, fans can use their PC, tablet or mobile device to visit coachoftheyear.com and post a pre-populated tweet to cast their Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year vote. Coaches that finish in the Top 15 among fan votes will qualify for an objective scoring model endorsed by the National Football Foundation. This model scores each of the 15 coaches on a variety of on- and off-the-field metrics and determines the 10 FBS finalists (similarly, the model produces five finalists each for FCS and Divisions II and III).

The finalists will be announced on Tuesday, December 4th, in New York City in conjunction with the College Football Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. Voting will then re-open for fans and committees of college football media and College Hall of Fame players and coaches, and the winners will be announced January 7, 2013, in South Florida in advance of the BCS championship game.
