SB Nation Blogpoll and SEC Power Poll Ballots: Week Fourteen

Mark Zerof-US PRESSWIRE

Not a whole lot to see here. I dropped a few teams after recent losses or because other teams caught my attention. One team I added is Northern Illinois, but you'll see that I don't have them too high. You couldn't pay me to believe that they're actually a BCS-worthy team, although I wish them luck in the game. That big, bad Kent St. team they beat for the MAC title? Kent St. got walloped by Kentucky. NIU themselves lost to a crappy Iowa team. In other news, I left UGA at three. They impressed me this weekend, and I don't believe in punishing them for losing a game that other teams didn't have to play.

SEC Power Poll Rankings

Obviously, these don't change much, but I thought I'd run through them to comment on the bowls.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

It's been a bumpy ride, but the Tide is who we thought they were.

2. Georgia Bulldogs

Like I said, this team impressed me this week, and I'm not going to bump them below Florida or others because they lost a game the other teams didn't have to play. If it had been a blowout, maybe, but it wasn't. That loss may haunt their fans for many years, though. They were *this* close to a very winnable national title game against ND, and they only have another meltdown from their head coach and QB to blame for the fact that they didn't get one more shot at the end zone.

3. Florida Gators

UF vs. Louisville might be a worse blowout than FSU-Northern Illinois.

4. Texas A&M Aggies

The Cotton Bowl vs. Oklahoma should be pretty awesome.

5. LSU Tigers

And now for the bowl we all want to see--Clemson vs. LSU. This could get ugly, folks. I wouldn't have minded seeing Clemson play TAMU, though.

6. South Carolina Gamecocks

Also get a prime bowl matchup against Michigan.

7. Vanderbilt Commodores

The Vandy game against coach-less N.C. State isn't quite as exciting as some of the other SEC bowls, but the home-town Music City Bowl bid has to make Commodores fans happy.

8. Ole Miss Rebels

The BBVA game against Pitt. might be pretty good. Two competitive 6-6 teams.

9. Mississippi St. Bulldogs

The Western Division Dawgs get Northwestern in the Gator Bowl. Dan Mullen would really like to win that game. His program needs some momentum with Ole Miss now on the rise.

10. Missouri Tigers

11. Tennessee Volunteers

12. Arkansas Razorbacks

13. Kentucky Wildcats

14. Auburn Tigers
