Today Bryce King joined teammate DJ Park by becoming the second Dillon offensive line prospect in the 2013 class to commit to South Carolina. King was long thought to be favoring the Gamecocks, but finally pulled the trigger on Saturday after the Garnet & Black game.
King is given a rating of four stars by 247 Sports and three stars by Rivals. The former ranks him as the second best Center prospect in the 2013 class, the latter ranks him third. With King's commitment, Shawn Elliot is well on his way toward building another solid OL class. The days of awful offensive line classes in the mid-2000s seem long behind us.
Right now, redshirt freshman Kyle Harris is being groomed as the heir apparent to four year starter T.J Johnson, and true freshman Clayton Stadnik took a lot of snaps at center this spring as well. King could compete for playing time his freshman season, but will most likely redshirt given the depth there. Moving out to guard is a possibility for him as well.
King is South Carolina's fifth commitment in the 2013 class, joining Park, JUCO DE Alfy Hill, LB/DE Gerald Turner, and LB Kight Dallas.
