Cody Waldrop
Redshirt Freshman Offensive Center
6'2", 312 lbs.
Seffner, FL

Recruitment:
3 stars, 6th-ranked offensive center in the 2012 class
Other offers: Georgia, Miami (FL), North Carolina, Tennessee

College Career:
Waldrop redshirted as a true freshman in 2012.

2013 Outlook:
"Mean streak" is probably a word that you've already read a thousand times over to describe Waldrop's demeanor on the field, and it's a big reason he's in line for the aggressive assignment of taking over as the starter at center despite not having played a down of college football.

One potential issue that came up in the spring was an inconsistency with being able to deliver the snap. It can be easy forget how automatic TJ Johnson had become in that department, especially once Connor Shaw took over for Stephen Garcia and the whole snapping-the-ball-to-the-quarterback-before-the-clock-ran-out thing got a lot smoother in general.

Trivia:
The last time someone other than TJ Johnson started at center for South Carolina, George W. Bush was still the president.

Possible Todd Ellis play-by-play call:
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Jordan Jenkins just got knocked out of the atmosphere with Waldrops of Jupiter in his hair. Hey hey hey hey, TOUCHDOWN CAROLINA.
