Disagree with any of my rankings? Tell me why in the comments.
The Tide toyed with Colorado St. for much of the game before putting the Rams away late.
2. LSU Tigers
The score and total yardage in LSU's win over Auburn made the game look closer than it actually was. When it had to, LSU exerted its will on Auburn, but the Bayou Bengals played much of the game conservatively, likely a good move, considering the danger of injuries in the downpour conditions.
The Dawgs move up in my rankings this week. The game against North Texas was closer for longer than it should have been, but the fact that the Dawgs gained roughly 400 more yards than UNT suggests that the Dawgs' issues in this game had more to do with anomalous special teams miscues than anything else.
4. Texas A&M Aggies
The lopsided final score masks the fact that TAMU gave up 400+ yards to SMU in another subpar defensive performance.
The Gamecocks enjoyed a bye as they tune up for an interesting road trip to Central Florida.
6. Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss moves up this week due to Florida's issues. Can they pull off the road upset over 'Bama this week? Even if they don't, a close game will signal continued improvement for Hugh Freeze's program.
The Gators defense shined against an anemic Tennessee offense, but the loss of Jeff Driskel for the season leaves the UF offense with even more question marks than it already had.
Mizzou remains something of an unknown given their light early-season schedule, but I do give them credit for looking good in the wins. Their latest was on the road at Indiana.
Although the game probably wasn't as close as the final score indicated, Auburn showed some resiliency in coming back late against LSU. This team is clearly improved from a year ago and has some pieces in place to keep getting better.
In what should have been a layup against 0-4 UMass, Vandy struggled until the fourth quarter. Is Vandy turning back into Vandy?
The Bulldogs bounced by from last week's loss to Auburn with a blowout win over Troy.
I'm not completely ready to sell on UT, but considering that it couldn't make things interesting against Florida despite the Gators' loss of Driskel, it's probably time to assume that this team's ceiling is six wins or so.
Tough loss for Arkansas on the road to Rutgers. Offense needs a lot of work.
Kentucky gets a bye to tune up for a home game against injury-battered Florida. The timing of this game may make things more interesting than I originally thought possible.
