More big games on tap this weekend.

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Thought last weekend was fun, outside the Carolina loss? Well, there's more excitement on tap this weekend.

In the SEC, the Mississippi schools again take center stage. After their fast starts, the two schools are tied in the rankings at third in the nation (yes, you read that right), and they have excellent chances to solidify their position in the SEC West this weekend.

Mississippi St. takes hosts second-ranked Auburn in the weekend's headline matchup. This series has regularly produced exciting contests over the years, but most of them haven't been very meaningful in the grand scheme of things. This year, it looks like that won't be the case, as both teams are contending for the division as well as a spot in the playoff.

In College Station, State's rival Ole Miss visits Texas A&M. This game will feature Ole Miss's stifling defense attempting to slow down Texas A&M's prolific offense.

Other notable matchups include Gurley-less Georgia visiting Mizzou in a key SEC East showdown, Oregon visiting UCLA, TCU visiting Baylor, and Southern Cal visiting Arizona.

Who ever thought Florida and LSU would feel like such an afterthought?
