TFP:  I was listening yesterday to Mark Packer's afternoon show on Sirus-XM 91 College Sports Nation, in which he had ESPN's Rece Davis on as a guest.  The Packman - a CU grad - couldn't help but work in a reference to  'Gamecocking' during the discussion.  Davis didn't rise to the bait, but he didn't contest the term, either.  Get ready to hear a lot more about "Gamecocking" and "Cock Flopping" - especially from our Clemson friends - unless and until the HBC and Whammy Ward can hold onto two-score, 4th quarter leads in the future.  Maybe the best way to do that is for the HBC to embrace the fact that over the past four years he and his staff have recruited for a power running / zone-read team.

The Rubber Chickens: Snap Judgments – 2014 USC @ Kentucky Edition "My position on Thompson after the Kentucky game is this – it is time to get Connor Mitch and/or Perry Orth some snaps in a live game. My change of heart is not because I think Thompson is a terrible quarterback. But, he has made some bad decisions and bad throws in the last two games that have contributed mightily to our demise."   Agreed.   Do you think Dylan Thompson should be benched?  Take the Poll!

Josh Kendall: Midseason report: With Gamecocks’ identity adrift, losses mount“'It is what it is,' South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said." That's a cop out, Coach.  Fix it.

The Big Spur: John asks What's left to play for? (From Sunday).  My answers?   (1) Self-respect.  (2) Holding onto the 2015 Recruiting Class.  (3) A decent bowl bid.  (4) Extending the streak over the Dabocats to six.  (5)  Getting p.t. for our future - namely, Connor Mitch and David Williams. Why did the Gamecocks stop running? (From Sunday).  No good answers, in my book.

Sportstalksc: DL DJ Jones is still talking to USC.  Hopefully the prospect of immediate playing time at USC will be a suitable enticement.

CBS College Football: Georgia freshman DB Shaq Jones dismissed.   It's always the biggest laugh-getter in the Dawgosphere to say Mark Richt has "lost control" of this or that.

In an incident that seems to have been forgotten for the most part due to the dumpster fire that was South Carolina’s fourth quarter defense, Shaq Roland added another chapter to his troubled Gamecocks career by getting himself suspended for Saturday’s game in yet another incident of the junior wide receiver being unable to get out of his own way. - See more at:
