Well, folks, the bottom just fell out on an already disappointing season.
This was an exciting game with lots of big plays all around. Carolina's Pharoh Cooper had a performance that might have warranted SEC Player of the Week honors if the Gamecocks had won.
However, all that matters at this point is that Carolina held a 14-point lead with less than two minutes to go and still managed to blow that lead and then to lose by three in overtime. Both of the Vols scoring drives at the end of the second half went the length of the field, with Carolina letting the Vols do whatever they wanted en route to the end zone. In overtime, the defense managed to force a field goal attempt by UT, but Spurrier bizarrely decided to pass the ball three straight times, and after Dylan Thompson was sacked twice, Elliott Fry missed a prayer FG attempt.
I don't have anything to say other than that I've never been more disgusted with this football program. This was an absolutely shameful performance, particularly by our defense and coaching staff.
