This evening, the South Carolina Gamecocks suffered another blow to its 2015 class with former offensive tackle commitment Paris Palmer flipping to the Penn State Nittany Lions. Palmer is the second decommitment on the offensive line, joining OT Austin Clark. As it stands, the Gamecocks only have three linemen committed, guard Zack Bailey, centr prospect Jozie Milton, and tackle Christian Pellage. Losing Palmer is a huge blow considering the Gamecocks are fairly weak at the tackle position. They lose Corey Robinson and potentially Brandon Shell, leaving D.J. Park, Mason Zandi as some of the only suitable replacements.
Currently, there is speculation that Palmer was supposed to have an in home visit with his recruiter Shawn Elliot, but told Elliot to not bother coming. It is also speculated that Palmer has had almost no contact from any of the Gamecock coaches since his official visit to Penn State. Currently it is not known who the Gamecocks will try to target to replace Palmer.
